It is famous for the writer Grazia Deledda who was born here and who won the Nobel prize for literature in 1926. Our school is situated in the suburb of Nuoro called “Biscollai” and it was opened in 1992 while our sister school in Orosei was opened in 1994. In Nuoro there are some interesting places to see: 4 museums, the statue of  “Su Redentore” and nice surroundings.

The museums are:

  1. “Museo Deleddiano” that was the house of Grazia Deledda and now is an interesting museum.
  2. “MAN”, the museum of contemporary art.
  3. “Museo del Costume” where you can see the ancient costumes and masks of Sardinia and also all the traditional products.
  4. “Archaeological Museum” where you can find archaeological findings.

The statue of  “Su Redentore” is at the top of the Ortobene Mountain, it was built in 1900 and attracts lots of tourists.
All around Nuoro there are lots of little villages like: Orgosolo, Oliena, Orune, Mamoiada, Dorgali etc...
In these villages the people are very friendly and welcoming, there are interesting places to visit (archaeological sites, museums, exhibitions, etc…) and you can eat all the typical Sardinian dishes and drink the local wine.
